We run a number of events throughout the year which all children and young people are welcome to attend (or help run as young leaders). Please see below for further information.
Children in worship (every Sunday at 10am)
Children are an important part of our church family and join us for worship every Sunday. We aim to make our services interactive and easy to understand so that all children and young people can partake fully in worship. Children are provided with an activity bag full of fun things for them to do to help them explore their faith.
Junior Church (2nd Sunday of every month, 10am)
On the second Sunday of every month children (from the age of 3 years upwards) and young people are invited to leave the adults and go into our Coffee Lounge where they interactively explore different bible stories through arts and crafts, music, games and discussion.
Holiday Activities
Our Holiday Club is returning in August 2025 as we explore Superheroes of the Bible! The Holiday Club will run on the 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th of August. We invite all children aged 5 to 11 to come and join us as we learn about these Superheroes through Bible stories, arts and crafts, and lots of fun activities. Bookings are now open! If you’re aged over 11 we would love for you to join us as a youth helper, and if you’re a bit older than that, we are also looking for adult volunteers to help us run the event. If you would like further information about volunteering please email outreach@urccollinwood.org.uk
Previous holiday activities
Over summer 2023 we welcomed 34 children over four days to join us for activities (in collaboration with Naturehood) where we looked at minibeasts in the water, in the air and in the earth. We did arts and crafts, played games and explored. During the Harvest Festival service we thought about our great big God and how he made all these beasts… and he made us too!
Other Activities
Children and young people are often invited to join events with other churches and youth groups. This year we joined the Wessex Synod children’s and youth camps, and joined together with Barton Youth Club for a trip to Jump Inc. Bicester!
