The United Reformed Church was founded in 1972 to re-unite denominations which had been separated for several hundred years. We are conscious that one of the reasons we exist as a denomination is to work for the unity of all Christians in and through Christ.

Church cleaning working party of the four churches on the site

Our congregation is committed to working ecumenically with churches of other traditions. We are active in Churches Together in Headington, cooperating as closely as possible with our Anglican, Roman Catholic and other Free Church neighbours.

We have been blessed by the opportunity of making our premises available to other congregations in need of space in which to worship.

The Oxford Korean Church (International Presbyterian Church) usually meets at 11.15 a.m. on Sundays. The predominanlty Punjabi speaking Asian Evangelical Church meets on Sunday afternoons, and a Portuguese speaking Pentecostal congregation on Saturday night. All four churches share ocassional worship together - when we get together we can make a very loud and joyous noise in praise of the Lord!

Christian Aid

We support Christian Aid, the agency of the churches in Britain and Ireland which funds development and community work by partner churches and other organisations overseas. We also promote fair trade goods through Traidcraft, and support the Jubilee Debt Campaign for the reduction of the debt burden of the developing world. The photograph on the left shows some of our young (and not so young) people on a sponsored walk for Christian Aid.

We also support the work of the Oxford Industrial Chaplaincy which seeks to connect the Church with the world of work: ours is not just a Sunday faith!
